Battery Mine was founded to help ensure that the critical raw materials and valuable components contained in end of life lithium batteries are recaptured and reused in the domestic supply chain inside the United States. This is an increasingly important issue as adoption of large and medium format lithium battery powered devices (like cars, buses, trucks, planes, boats, grid tied storage and more) is forecasted to skyrocket over the coming years. We simply cannot produce enough new raw materials to meet the projected demand, which means that recapturing and reusing existing materials will be an increasingly important part of the battery manufacturing supply chain in the US. Ensuring that existing batteries are properly tracked, collected, recycled and reused will help bolster energy security, grid resilience and domestic supply throughout the US.
Who we are
Battery Mine is led by Tom DiGiovanni, an entrepreneurial CPA with a long track record of accelerating high growth companies in multiple industries, including solar energy, medical devices, real estate, advertising, technology and various consumer products. We believe that assembling the best technological approaches, pairing them with best of breed business practices and locating our facilities in underserved communities will provide the triple bottom line results that benefit people, planet and profits. We are currently continuing to build out our team as we scale the company's operations.
Where we are
Battery Mine currently has offices in Boston and Southern California, with our upcoming Manufacturing Facility to be located in Ohio. Our planned Ohio facility will feature easy access to an international airport, the interstate highway system and a nearby rail line. As it will be located in an historically underinvested Justice40 community, our facility will provide new economic opportunities for local residents as well as our investors and business partners. To further support our SBSS Network, we also plan to open strategically located cargo routing and feeder facilities throughout the United States.
